Growing up in Northern California I began my career as an audio engineer mixing the various bands I was performing with at the time. From playing small venues and house parties there was a need for a reliable and consistent PA; so I went out and purchased one. At the time (around 2009) I was working at a Guitar Center in Sacramento where I became friends with a number of individuals who worked in some local recording studios. One of those studios was "Red House studios" owned by local band Papa Roach who would rehearse and track demos for their albums there. After working for Red House Studios for about a year I began to mix monitors for a local music club, "Ace of Spades". While working these jobs I also attended music business courses at American River College.
Shortly thereafter I got an opportunity to move to Arizona in order to attend the University of Arizona in Tucson. Once there I quickly was introduced to the theatre sound design program where I began working towards my Bachelors in Fine Arts. In the U of A theatre program I was able to mix musical theatre learning line-by-line mixing as well as getting my first experience in Sound Design for theatre. While living in Tucson I worked for the local theatre companies as an A2 and eventually got an internship with Clearwing Productions of Phoenix Arizona. While at Clearwing I was able to work as a warehouse associate and eventually on a variety of productions around the Phoenix metro area.
About a year before I was set to graduate at the University of Arizona I got an offer to go on tour with, "Ground Control" a VIP events company who was in need of a production manager and FoH engineer for their artist VIP experiences. While working with Ground Control I toured with the Backstreet Boys for two years across the United States and Canada mixing their DJ and acoustic sets as well as handling the day-to-day of the VIP events management. Some tasks include working with local union reps to secure stagehands, working with the Production Manager of their "main show" to co-ordinate truck space and load/unload times, as well as nightly settlement with local Live Nation reps.
After working for the Backstreet Boys from 2012-2014 I worked with Korn on the, "Rockstar Mayhemfest" tour doing similar VIP events. After finishing this tour I returned to the U of A to finish my final semester to attain my BFA in Theatre Sound Design. Once I had graduated I began looking for work and knowing a number of individuals that worked in Seattle I decided it was as good of a place to start my career as any. I moved to Seattle and quickly found work with a number of local production companies mixing sound for live events as well as theatre and broadcast. First with Morgan Sound of Lynnwood Washington then with Guerilla Audio of Seattle. I also began working with Seattle Children's theatre, Edmonds Center for the Arts, and Fremont Studios as a freelance A1. While working throughout the Puget Sound I also began working with AEG mixing FoH and monitors at both of their, "Showbox" venues as well as with Seattle Theatre Group at their Neptune and Moore theatre spaces.
After freelancing for a few years I decided to take an offer to be the Head of Audio at the Moore theatre with Seattle Theatre Group in downtown Seattle. While working here I continued to freelance with other venues as well mixing corporate events, festivals, and the occasional theatrical run. It was about two years into working as Head of Audio for the Moore theatre that the Covid-19 pandemic hit and all STG theatre staff were laid off due to lack of shows. At this point I had occasionally worked with a client doing E-sports broadcast mixing called, "Atomic Infotech". While most of productions companies were hit hard with a lack of events Atomic Infotech was busier than ever due to the surge in remote broadcast shows and the tech-sectors need for productions companies that could produce these kinds of live events.
After about a year of freelancing with Atomic I took the role as their full-time Head of Audio mixing broadcasts and sound designing. At Atomic I've been able to work a variety of E-Sporting events as well as many remote and "hybrid" live events streamed to Twitch, Amazon Live, Youtube, FreeVee, and Steam. I've mixed worldwide broadcasts to over a million people in several time-zones as well as high-profile events for Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, Bungie, Wizards of the Coast, Harbor Island Studios, Turn10, The Crown Channel, along with many others. Atomic continues to innovate and push boundaries of what is possible with Live-Streams and audience interaction.
Going forward I hope to continue my life-long pursuit of greater knowledge and skill in the field of live audio. The verisimilitude of my background helps me deliver great results to clients and positive interactions with the teams I am a part of. I continue to push myself and those around me to learn and grow and I hope you reach out to me if you have an event or tour that requires a top-notch audio engineer who delivers outstanding results.
